Masterson’s Lounge, situated in the center of Moonee Ponds , advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I encountered behind its entrance was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.

From the moment I entered , it was apparent that upkeep was not a priority at Masterson’s . The surfaces were tacky , and a overpowering stench of stale beer and filthy restrooms suffused the entire bar . With a smell of a mixture of human waste, decay and sickness . The serving zone , which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and litter that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks .
